Survey Update, Spring 2024
\nThe Leadership Board for CIOs in Higher Education (LBCIO) has not produced full surverys since the beginning of the Covid 19 Pandemic. We have had a number of member initiated surveys for members only. Beginning in 2024, LBCIO will work with The Center for Digital Education to produce surveys of higher education IT leaders more in line with previous LBCIO surveys. These surveys will be shorter in length and more topical but together will provide similar information to past LBCIO surveys.<\/p>\n
LBCIO Update Summer from 2021<\/p>\n
The Leadership Board for CIOs in Higher Education (LBCIO) decided to replace the annual global CIO survey outlining major IT activities and planning for IT on college and university campuses with several short surveys dealing with the global pandemic and how higher education institutions are handling the Covid19 crisis and orders to close campuses. We wanted an early picture of what CIOs are doing and think about the crisis and what actions are important to them and their institutions in the early stages of the pandemic.<\/p>\n
This report is a quick view of the results from the LBCIO Survey of Higher Education CIOs on the impact of the global Covid19 Pandemic. The survey was sent out March 23, 2020 and closed the evening of March 31, 2020. The questions and the charts and graphs are a compilation of the results from the survey gathered on April 1-2, 2020. CIOs from North America, Europe, Australasia and South Africa participated in the survey.<\/p>\n
We followed up with another short survey in June\/July 2020. That data is now posted. We will do another in the fall of 2020 to see how attitudes and plans may have changed as time passes and hopefully as the crisis begins to wane. We finished with a final question that was sent out October 7, 2020 and closed October 15, 2020. We finished the report in April, 2021 and it is available online.<\/p>\n
As with all LBCIO surveys, all information provided is used for research purposes only. None of the personal responses will be identified with the CIO\u2019s name or institution\u2019s name. We thank all the CIO\u2019s who took time out during their busy schedule to complete the short survey.<\/p>\n
